In the morning of November 5, 2019, the representative of the World Bank came to visit and work at Quang Trung Software City (QTSC).
Leading the delegation was Ms. Asya Akhlaque - Chief Economist, World Bank said their mission was to learn about cooperation opportunities in ICT field and the challenges/limitations faced by ICT companies in the expansion of operations. The policies/regulations reforms that ICT companies desire the government to make so as to improve the business environment/wastewater.
After an overview of QTSC, as well as its preferential policies for domestic and foreign investors, Ms. Nguyen Kim Phuong - Manager of Strategy and Marketing Department and Ms. Truong Thi Kim Chi - Manager of Customer Service Department shared the World Bank representative about the procedures for investors when they wanted to invest in Quang Trung Software City, the development trend of Vietnam IT industry. According to Ms. Phuong, after a period of outsourcing software products for foreign corporations and companies, Vietnamese enterprises have accumulated considerable experience and finance, so in recent years, Vietnam IT enterprises has been focusing on product development in order to supply to the domestic market and export to foreign countries.

Then, Mr. Philip Han Chang, Senior Economist, World Bank wanted to learn about the human resource situation of Vietnam IT industry in the face of new technologies such as IoT, AI/ML, Blockchain, Fintech, Robotics, etc. Answering this issue, Ms. Phuong said that human resources 4.0 are currently lacking in countries around the world because they are absolutely new technologies, need to update knowledge regularly. Vietnamese IT companies are now confident in applying these new technologies. For example, at QTSC, we have collaborated with local businesses and partners to integrate IoT, AI/ML applications on a single platform to turn QTSC into a green, smart city.
In addition, QTSC has also built QTSC R&D Labs – a place for startups in the field of R&D, focusing on researching new applications and products based on 4.0 technology, and the Agriculture Center of Excellence to deploy IT applications in agriculture.
