In the afternoon of October 9, 2019, QTSC and US Consulate General's Economic Section organized a workshop on the topic "Enabling the Next Wave of Data Innovation" at Quang Trung Software City. The workshop attracted more than 30 participants from IT companies in QTSC and business members of VNITO Alliance.

The keynote speaker was Mr. Daniel Castro - Vice President of Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF) and Director of Data Innovation Center (Center for Data Innovation). He was invited to Vietnam as a speaker on IT and Innovation, especially topics that received a lot of attention from Vietnamese IT businesses such as data innovation, data security, and AI/ML.

According to Mr. Daniel Castro, data is changing our lives every hour of every day. It is data that is changing homes, cities, people, even an industry and the way government works. When Artificial Intelligence (AI) combined with the Internet of Things (IoT), automation is pushed to a higher level. This helps increase productivity, improve labor safety, increase environment/wastewateral sustainability, create new insights on health care, and support government more effectively.
