In the morning of November 15, a delegation from Vinh Long province, including Department of Science and Technology, Department of Transport, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, paid a working visit to Quang Trung Software City (QTSC). Welcoming the delegation was Deputy CEO of QTSC Pham Thi Kim Phuong.
According to Nguyen Thanh Phong, Deputy Director of Department of Science and Technology, Vinh Long province, they visited QTSC’s smart city model with the aim of learning about operation scale, studying practical experience so that they could implement some useful applications in the province.
Regarding the smart city model, Nhieu Quoc Tran - Lead of Technological Solution Section, QTSC introduced Industry 4.0 technologies being applied in QTSC such as: QTSC Integrated Operation Center (IOC), Smart Video Management System (VMS), GIS system, Auto Meter Reading System, and so on.

Phuong added that during the process of development, QTSC has faced many difficulties and challenges in administration activities such as: to ensure 24/7 operation of the infrastructure system; ensure security and traffic safety; improve capacity to serve the high needs of enterprises and those who studying and working here, etc. Therefore, QTSC has sought effective technological solutions to improve quality management system, customer satisfaction, as well as develop QTSC brand to be on a par with other countries' technology zones based on information technology platforms.
In addition, in June 2018, QTSC was the first state-owned business in Ho Chi Minh City was certified as a science and technology business. From applying technological solutions into management activities, QTSC has increased operational efficiency, thus contributing to bring QTSC towards a smart city model.
Listening to a brief introduction of QTSC IOC
Ho Van Tri, Director of Management board of construction investment project for transportation works, Vinh Long Department of Transport was very interested in smart camera management system using artificial intelligence and smart public lighting system. Vinh Long is planning to build a camera system to monitor security and order in the city, and a lighting system to save maximum electricity and operating costs. The applications that QTSC has been deploying are very suitable with the development needs of the province, Tri added.
In the afternoon of the same day, the delegation visited Data Center of QTSC, 5D Agricultural JSC and the Agriculture Center of Excellence.
