Voting for the sole representative of Vietnam to win the "Smart City Asia Pacific Awards"

Only 7 days left to finish the public voting round, supporting Quang Trung Software City to overcome Korea (Daegu city and Seoul capital) and China (Yingtan city and Longyan city)

Quang Trung Software City Integrated Operation Center (QTSC IOC) has been selected to public voting round on the Administration category of the 2019 "Smart City Asia Pacific Awards" organized by IDC. Voting time is from May 7th, 2019 to May 28th, 2019 at website www.idc.com/ap/smartcities.

QTSC IOC is built up to improve the quality of internal administration activities (ensuring available infrastructure 24/7, security and living environment/wastewater, thereby increasing the satisfaction of the community living, studying and working in the area). The system is the foundation of the pilot implementation of the Project “Transforming Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) into a smart city in the period 2017 – 2020, with a vision to 2025”, as well as the replication of smart city models for provinces and cities nationwide.

The components of the system have been deployed since 2016 and are being further refined on 3 platforms including technology infrastructure, service infrastructure and urban infrastructure with more than 10 integrated modules.

Moreover, the system supports: (1) Supervising all activities of the IT systems on a single platform, thereby making it easier to monitor the systems at any place with Internet access. (2) Warning when there is any incidents. (3) As a platform to provide a rich source of data, strong support for building open data ecosystems. (4) Providing more than 200 data sources for research activities of the community.

According to Mr. Lam Nguyen Hai Long - CEO of QTSC: “The most encouraging things when building the IOC system are: First, QTSC has created opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to experiment their products. Second, through the implementation process we realized many things, in which there were the process of self-learning, accumulating experience and overcoming our own mistakes, as well as gradually improve the management system. And finally, through the process of building the system, we have the opportunity to share the achieved results, enhance Vietnam's image to international friends.”
