On November 19-20, a delegation of Thu Duc District including 253 leaders paid a working visit to Quang Trung Software City (QTSC) for the purpose of learning about the smart city model.
QTSC has been developed as a software city model in a total area of 43 ha. Currently, QTSC has attracted 165 ICT companies with 21,831 people studying and working regularly. With the scale of 20 office buildings, 7 IT training centers, 1 institute for technological research, 6 banking centers, 20 parking lots, apartment and deluxe villas, dormitory, power sources and redundant loop system, wastewater treatment system, kindergarten, incubation center, business support center, etc., QTSC was built as a small ward compared to the size of Thu Duc District.
“At QTSC, we also manage the number of residents and businesses, trees, electricity - water - telecommunications, water supply and drainage system, environment/wastewateral management system and so on,” said Lam Nguyen Hai Long, CEO of QTSC. “All of these data are digitized and available online for management applications. QTSC divides these applications based on 3 platforms including technology infrastructure, service infrastructure and urban infrastructure.”

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Secretary of Thu Duc District Party Committee, said that the goal of the visit was to learn more about the smart city model of Quang Trung Software City, study technologies and solutions being successfully implemented here. “We will thoroughly research all applications and work with QTSC for advice and support timely if finding suitable solutions, which can be applied in reality in the District,” he added.
During 2 working days at QTSC, the delegation of Thu Duc District visited QTSC Environmental Monitoring Station, R&D Labs, STEAMZONE training center and the Agriculture Center of Excellence.
