In the afternoon of June 22, Saigon Transportation Mechanical Corporation – Single-Member Limited Liability (SAMCO) held a site visit to Quang Trung Software City (QTSC).

SAMCO operates in various business fields, each of which plays an important role in the city’s socio-economic development and gathers various resources, supportive power, associative cooperation in multiple fields. In addition, with manufacturing mechanical engineering as its leading-edge industry, the SAMCO Corporation is designated as one of the four corporations undertaking a key task of developing Vietnam’s automotive industry.

As a State-owned enterprise with multi-field business operations, its major business segments include production of transport mechanical products and provision of high-quality transport services. The corporation’s automotive business sells cars, buses, and coaches and provides genuine spare parts and auto services for vehicles such as Toyota, Mitsubishi, Isuzu, Chevrolet, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan… It also manufactures and assembles various buses and special purpose vehicles on bare chassis imported from Isuzu, Hino, Maz, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz…

According to Mr. Tran Quoc Toan, General Director of SAMCO: Facing the challenge of gradually reforming and applying technological science in management and administration to improve business efficiency, thus the leaders of SAMCO decided visit QTSC to learn more about the operation model and digital transformation solutions that have been implementing in QTSC.

Welcoming the delegation, QTSC’s representatives introduced data center infrastructure services for smart city, cloud computing infrastructure service, information security service; and demoed outstanding products and solutions for smart city such as Smart camera management system VMS; Guard controlling and monitoring software; Document management software.

Mr. Lam Nguyen Hai Long, CEO of QTSC shared that digital transformation is an inevitable step of businesses to improve management processes, increase productivity and reduce production costs. Digital transformation depends on the needs of each business, however as QTSC’s practical experience, businesses should carry it out as easy-to-hard process. In addition, it should implement the applications for practical benefits and cost savings first, because the main purpose of digital transformation is serve for business model transformation.
