On the afternoon of December 26, 2024, QTSC along with the Standing Steering Committee for the implementation of Project 06 in District 12, VETC Electronic Toll Collection Co., Ltd. (VETC), and Saigon Bank for Industry and Trade (SaigonBank) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to cooperate in developing smart parking systems integrating contactless solutions and cashless payment methods.

The signing event aligns with the Government’s Project 06 and the Ho Chi Minh City’s People Committee’s plan to promote cashless payments while ensuring security, order, and safety. The initiative aims to reduce and ultimately eliminate cash usage.

The smart parking project will capitalize on the unique strengths of each participating entity, including:

- QTSC: As the operator of a software city, QTSC provides IT infrastructure and software solutions for both domestic and international markets, e-government infrastructure and digital technology infrastructure to support key city programs, including digital transformation and administrative reforms, and the coordinated implementation of Project 06 in Ho Chi Minh City.

- The Standing Steering Committee of Project 06 in District 12: Responsible for implementing Project 06 in District 12, this committee utilizes the national population database and chip-based ID system to optimize citizen management processes. It also participates in smart city projects, such as deploying security camera systems and smart parking models, playing a crucial role in technology-driven projects aimed at enhancing social management efficiency, including piloting the smart parking model.

- VETC: As Vietnam’s first provider of electric toll collection (ETC) services, contributing to the modernization of traffic infrastructure and reducing congestion at toll stations nationwide. The company has successfully implemented ETC systems at hundreds of toll stations, enabling efficient and accurate fee collection.

- SaigonBank: a financial partner, SaigonBank offers cashless payment solutions and financial services. It provides electronic payment platforms, comprising bank cards, e-wallets, QR codes, and bank account integrations, contributing to the creation of a smart payment ecosystem, particularly for smart parking projects.

This signing ceremony marks a strong collaborative partnership among management entities, technology providers, and enterprises. The goal is to build a modern smart parking system that alleviates traffic congestion, enhances user experience, and meets the growing demands of citizens and enterprises, and fosters the development of a digital economy and a cashless city. It demonstrates collective commitment to synchronized, intelligent traffic solutions that contribute to digital transformation and sustainable city development.
