PRESS RELEASE VIETNAM ITO CONFERENCE 2017 Vietnam – Asia Tier 1 Delivery Destination (VNITO - Ho Chi Minh City, October 19, 2017) – In the morning of October 19, the Vietnam ITO Conference 2017 is officially taking place at GEM Convention Center (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City). The conference attracts nearly 500 delegates including 150 overseas participants from 20 different countries and 250 corporate representatives from the local IT service community, together with more than 100 representatives from IT universities, consulates, trade associations in Vietnam, and local and international press and media. This is the biggest bi-annual (once in every two years) conference on ITO/BPO[1] in Vietnam, aiming at promoting Vietnam as an emerging IT service destination among the top IT service provider countries in the world. Vietnam ITO Conference 2017 receives special care and strong support by the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. It is co-organized by VNITO Alliance, Quang Trung Software City (QTSC), and the Investment & Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC). In four days of the conference (October 18th - 21st, 2017), Vietnam ITO Conference 2017 focuses on introducing the capabilities of Vietnam IT service industry in the loupe of new technologies (SMAC, AI, IoT, Blockchain, etc.); Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector; and investment opportunities in localities such as Lam Dong province, Danang & Central region, and Mekong Delta. Vietnam ITO Conference 2017 is not only promoting the ITO/BPO competence of Vietnam but also intensifying the connectivity to other sectors such as high-tech agriculture via new technologies and smart solutions by IT businesses. Mr. Pham Thiet Hoa, Director of ITPC says: “Vietnam software industry has been highly liked by many customers in the world. However, since a majority of Vietnamese software enterprises are small, it is difficult to approach the international market by individual marketing effort. In the next period, the municipal council would regularly organize international conferences on IT – high tech and conduct overseas promotion programs to key markets such as: North America, Japan, Europe, Singapore, Australia, etc., to promote Vietnam IT industry. Vietnam ITO Conference 2017 is one of the international promotion activities which is held in Ho Chi Minh City. Via this conference, the city’s leaders expect that Vietnam IT companies will be able to achieve realistic benefits, successfully set up business relationship with many potential partners as well as taking opportunities to grow business for the time to come”. The MOU signing ceremony is the very first step for further cooperation in the chain of promotion activities that integrates Vietnam IT sector in the international playground.
