In the afternoon of July 15, Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association (HCA) organized the program "Minister of Information and Communications to meet the Southern ICT community" to talk about solutions for construction and development "Make in Vietnam" products at Quang Trung Software City (QTSC).
Opening the program, Mr. Lam Nguyen Hai Long, Chairman of HCA, CEO of QTSC said that: “This is the first time HCA held a meeting between Minister and Southern ICT enterprises aiming to strengthen the connection between the state management agencies with the ICT business community and associations in the southern provinces. Also, this is a valuable opportunity for businesses to present and comment directly to the leaders of MIC, thus helping state management agencies to grasp the situations timely so as to support and help enterprises solve difficulties and develop markets.”
Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung said that digital transformation has opened up great opportunities for Vietnam. Vietnamese IT enterprises has had a huge potential to develop, in which small and medium enterprises play an important role in implementing technology applications. Currently, enterprises operating in the ICT field in HCMC only meet 30% of the demand on technology application for the domestic market, so requiring IT businesses to be more innovative and progressive. For example, MISA with its own platform, has made electronic accounting and billing software for small and super small businesses, even in rural and mountainous areas. That has helped change the habits of many accountants and bring IT closer to everyone.

Minister Nguyen Manh Hung also encouraged large businesses to combine with universities to organize more meetings and exchanges. If doing this well, there would be many opportunities to find excellent students and talents. In addition, schools need to create their own outstanding factors to attract more cooperation.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi, Director of Ho Chi Minh City’s Information Technology Park under the Vietnam National University expected the start-up development programs would receive the sponsorship of the Ministry of Information and Communications. Vietnam needs to position itself as a Tech Hub, in which people are the most important factor. As this spirit, we would launch the Talent for Startup program in December. Responding this proposal, Minister said that the meetings on developing Vietnam technology enterprises were organized more before. The problem as well as our strong aspiration now is how to attract and hold talented people for the country.
With enterprises’ proposal on amending regulations and policies to help businesses in the field of IT consultancy work more effectively, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said that he was very receptive and eager to receive contributions from enterprises in making government policies.
