On the morning of June 28, a delegation from Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), an agency under the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia with a close to 25-year track-record of successfully leading the ICT and digital economy growth in Malaysia, paid a working visit to Quang Trung Software City (QTSC).
The mission aimed to reconnect the partnership between QTSC and MDEC, as well as explored potential cooperation opportunities in the future. Leading the MDEC delegation was Mr. Balasubramaniam A/L S. Arunasalam, Director of Scaleup Development, Tech Ecosystem and Globalization. Welcoming the delegation was Ms. Pham Thi Kim Phuong, Deputy CEO of QTSC.
In order to update the activities of MDEC and QTSC after being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic for a long time, representatives of the two sides in turn gave presentations on current projects and expected plans.

Accordingly, MDEC's tech ecosystems and globalization focuses on the development of local tech companies of all stages, from creation of new start-ups to grooming homegrown tech unicorns. MDEC was established with the mission of connecting globally to gain access and create opportunities for qualified Malaysia companies, especially in the digital sector.
Welcoming the delegation, there was also the representative of Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Consulting and Support Center (DXCenter), which is a science – technology center under QTSC. Being an official unit of HCMC, DXCenter performs a digital transformation mission, contributes to the completion and development of the digital transformation ecosystem in Vietnam, especially in HCMC and the southern key economic zones.

There are many similarities between the operating model of MDEC and QTSC, along with the orientation to promote digital transformation activities, the two sides raised many issues for discussion, and shared potential cooperation programs to boost digital transformation activities at QTSC in particular and HCMC in general. Thereby, QTSC and MDEC could consider signing a MOU for a number of appropriate programs.
At the end of the program, the delegation moved to visit TMA Solutions, one of the largest software outsourcing companies in Vietnam with 3,500 engineers, operating at QTSC. TMA Solutions was established in 1997 to provide quality software outsourcing services to leading companies worldwide.
