Ho Chi Minh City allows controlled testing of self-driving vehicles at QTSC

On November 24, 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council issued Resolution 20/2024/NQ-H-ĐND, outlining criteria, sectors, and guidelines for controlled trials of new technology solutions within the city’s high-tech parks and centralized IT zones. This resolution aims to implement the provisions of Resolution 98/2023 of the National Assembly, which outlines special mechanisms and policies to accelerate Ho Chi Minh City’s development.

Resolution 20/2024/NQ-HĐND provides detailed support measures, funding sources, and guidelines for enterprises to trial innovative technological solutions while addressing related legal challenges. Specifically, the development and testing of solutions involving unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) will be conducted within the high-tech park, whereas the research, development, and application of self-driving vehicle solutions will be tested at QTSC.
