Since 2004, BTM Global, a retail systems integrator, has provided retailers with expert services in the areas of strategic technology planning, development, implementation and support. Founded by veterans of RETEK, a software company acquired by Oracle, BTM Global has grown to about 150 employees across dual headquarters in Minneapolis and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
A Focus on Oracle Retail
BTM Global has focused on implementing Oracle technology for retail organizations that range from smaller regional chains to some of the world’s most recognized brands. Customers of BTM Global, a Gold-level member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork, include such names as Red Wing Shoes, World Kitchen and Perry Ellis International.
“Our work is about more than the technology — what sets us apart is our strategic approach, diverse teams and our committed relationships with clients,” said Tom Schoen, BTM Global CEO. “We pride ourselves on being nimble and responding creatively to our clients’ needs, which is why so many clients return to us to implement additional projects that help make their business more seamless, efficient and profitable.”
Red Wing Shoes is a good example of how BTM Global puts this approach into practice. Red Wing summoned BTM Global to support the implementation of the Oracle Retail Xstore POS solution across hundreds of stores, as outlined in a CIO Magazine article. BTM Global tackled issues of data governance and data quality, spearheading a successful deployment of Oracle Retail Xstore and EMV-enabled payment processing.
“Without BTM Global, I’m not sure we would have gotten through our implementation,” Red Wing Shoes CIO Marc Kermisch told CIO Magazine.
For Red Wing Shoes and other clients, BTM Global’s development team in Vietnam played an instrumental role. The office was established by BTM Global founder and CTO Andy Huynh to complement the U.S. team with expert talent in his home country of Vietnam.
“We function as one around-the-clock team that serves our clients anytime and anywhere,” Huynh said. That’s backed up by U.S. and Vietnam employees periodically working in each other’s offices and ultimately creating a stronger team of problem-solvers.
Expanding with Oracle NetSuite
In its most recent move, BTM Global expanded its Oracle partnership by joining the NetSuite Alliance Partner Program, offering implementation and consulting services for Oracle NetSuite’s cloud-based platform for retail ecommerce, CRM and back-office financials and inventory.
Schoen said that more retailers, especially in the small and midmarket space, are interested in agile, cloud-based solutions that can be rapidly deployed and extended into new markets. By teaming up with NetSuite, BTM Global expands its commitment to provide clients with a diversity of expertise, resulting in more creative and bolder solutions for retailers’ technology challenges.
”We’re very happy to be able to offer NetSuite customers our unique, well-rounded expertise for their integration and development needs,” Schoen said. “NetSuite offers a proven omnichannel commerce solution on a unified cloud platform with access to real-time data to improve business agility.”
